Setting: This will be an rp event taking place on ships out at sea. So try to think of your surroundings when you make a post and try to keep it 'believable' but fun ^_~ Introduction: Following the rumors of war, Other nations that have had their eye on Silver Oak's territory begin to make their move as well hoping to win while Silver Oak's focus is on Temporis. Fearing the fate of Silver Oak's trading vessels, Queen Ikachan calls forth the General of Special Operations (kaitain) and asks him to seek out and protect their ships of trade by defeating the so called 'Looters' or Pirates. ______________________________________________
(Anyone may join in at anytime here even if the ship has already taken it's leave from the dock. Just jump in as if you had been there and boarded or play stowaway. ^_~ Be creative!) Rules 1. Always stay in character as much as possible as always ooc comments go in (here) but try to keep the ooc (out of character) comments in the OOC thread. 2. It's always nice to be patient when posting and let everyone have a turn when doing play by post, but sometimes you just have to skip over them and they can write a 'catch up' post when they get back. 3. If something happens in rp and two characters end up fighting, there is a dice roller available here in the forums. You can click the dice image at the top where all the tools are when you post and enter the type of dice you want: 1d20 will produce this [dice=20] 1d6 will produce this [dice=6] 1d100 will produce this [dice=100] If you need a refresher course on battle, please see Mr. Dragen's combat training thread. If silver oak members (the names on the official member list) wish to fight you can choose to use your stats from silver oak, or those from the GUILD COMBAT ARENA. (Unless you are fighting a member not of silver oak.. then you will use GUILD ARENA STATS) No fights here will count as wins there, it's just a basis to work off of on how much hp each of you have. All other fighters (this includes any outside roleplayers who aren't an official member of silver oak) will use their GUILD ARENA stats when fighting. 4. HAVE FUN AND GET YOUR TUSH OUT THERE TO RP! The Elven Queen pulls out a feather pen and dips the tip into ink before sliding over a piece of parchment to write a letter for the General Kaitain.
It Reads:
General, if you are not so busy with your current orders, I wish for you to return to Silver Oak post haste and carry out a more important task. I have received reports that some of our trading vessels are being attacked by what people are referring to as pirates.
Since you have trained the only elite group of warriors that make it their purpose to fight under extreme conditions, I ask that you take a group and board one of our best and fastest ships and set sail for sea. I'd like you to seek out these "Pirate" ships and stop them before they attack anymore of our own.
I will pay you 500 gold currency a head and 1,000 per Pirate Captain you bring in or fall. I'm afraid I cannot accept no as an answer for the people of Silver Oak depend on the trade to live. Following this note to you will be one sent to the best captain we have to offer and who knows the seas well. He will meet you at the harbor and will be carrying my letter to him as well.
Thank you, General... remember... Silver Oak and I, are depending on you and your group.
Signed
~Queen Ikachan of Silver Oak.~

Kaitain folded up the note and placed it into one of the many pockets of his coat. The weather didn't really warrent the coat, but Kai always felt that black and red were his colors, and wearing a black and red t-shirt might not have the same impact on potential pirates.
It did not take him long to reach the docks, he looked out over the ships that were stationed there, and wondered which of the fine vessels would be his. He walked around the wharf, looking for the one the queen mentioned in her letter.
"This will be an adventure to remember," he thought to himself.

"Ye drunken sailors!" A short man on the husky side shook his fist at his crewmen from the dock. He was wearing an eye patch on his left eye and walked with a gimpy right leg.
"One of ye better get yer arse dun 'ere and load these 'ere crates for dat Gener'al be gettin 'ere! Da Queen's muney went for ta buyin these wares! We tain't be leavin wit out 'em!" He kicked the crate nearest himself and shook his fist at his crewmen again.

"no..."
It was all Kaitain could think for the next 10 minutes as he watched the scene in front of him. He also started to realize how out of place he must look, all these sailors, and him in his generals robes. He also felt something, it was wet, he also came to the realization that his mouth was still open. He closed his mouth, and sighed, a deep sigh, that carried with it the weight of a thousand worlds.

The captain turned around after hearing "No" and looked up at the General. " 'ey dere Gener'al! ........Ye are dat Gener'al da Queen sent ain't ye? Good timin I wus needin someone ta help load dese 'ere crates onto me ship. Dem good for nutin sailors up dere drinkin me rum for I had a sip yet, 'scuze me." He turned and headed up the ramp onto his ship.
"Dis will be cumin out of ye own pockets when we start dat fightin wit dem pirates!" He bellows from onboard the ship.

An eyebrow raised. It was subtle, but his right eyebrow was definately exceeding the recommended height for facial hair.
"what...?"
The word was partly made in disgust, but a greater deal of confusion as he tried to understand what the "captain" (if he could be called that) had just told him to do. He wondered if this was the queen's idea of a joke after that whole milk incident with the panda.

The Captain leaned over the edge and looked down at the General. "Wut? I can't 'ere ye! Yer goin ta need ta speak up if you be wantin a reply Gener'al. Many moons at sea do thins like at to a sailors ears. Now quit yer yakin and get pakin! We got a breeze to catch an I don't mean the fowl kind mind ye!" He turns back around to yell at some other crew members.

"I suddenly have a bad feeling about this trip..." He said to himself, as he jumped up and onto the side of the ship, balancing precariously on the edge. He began to walk around the ship, looking over the crew, and inspecting the hull. After a short walk, he discovered, that he almost felt a bit of fear about stepping down onto the deck itself. As if he would be decending into some kind of quagmire from which there was no escape.

" 'ey Gener'al! Hop on down 'ere and lets plan our headin. Ye DO 'ave a headin don't ye?" He gestures for the General to come down with his bottle of rum and heads down into the captain's quarters to look at his map.

Kai's eyes widened as he jumped down onto the deck. Ignoring the odd "splorch" sound that was made, he chased after the captain, "You mean the queen didn't give you a heading!?" He shouted as he approached the captain's quarters.

"Wut? Yer mumblin agin Gener'al." He sat down in his chair that resembled an old thrown out throne. It was covered in torn black leather and looked as though it would make better firewood than a chair.
"Da Queen said we be fightin Pirates an where do pirates be? Ta sea! Did ye not read the Queen's letter? Our job is to find 'em for no one knows where they be till dey attack, see? Ye be the one da Queen sent ta lead us ain't ye? Pick a route Gener'al an da Drunken Munkey be sure to get ye dere. Dat's da name of da ship if'n ye didn't notice before ye boarded."

Kai did indeed have the queen's letter. It was currenetly in his hand, aproaching the point where it would be crushed into a quantum singularity by Kai's fist as it tightened. Why him? What did he do? Sure there was the time with that temple, but how was he to have known the kagaroo was drunk? He sighed again, feeling his breath leave his body, and escape happily out the door to the cabin, floating away on the breeze, gleeful to never have to return to the ship.
"I'm going to get her back for this..." He mumbled under his breath.

"Git who bak for wut?" The captain wondered what the Queen had been thinking to send this General to him. He had no known heading, he talked to himself, and he didn't even lend a hand to help load the ship.
"Gener'al do ye 'ave a headin or do we set sail to da unknown in a randum direction?" He put his head back to drink down some more rum.

"Take your drunkest crew member, spin him round, and whichever direction he vomits will be our heading..." He said, turning around, placing his hands behind his back, trying to regain as much dignity as he could. Which on this ship, wasn't much. "I trust you have a room prepared for me?" He said, suddenly understanding why pirates would want to kill the crew and rob these ships, he was starting to get the urge himself.

"Drunkest crewman eh? Den ye best lookout Gener'al! Imma gonna spin!" he stands up and hobbles around... somehow between the docks earlier and now.. his eye patch has changed to his right eye and his gimpy leg seemed to be his left now.
"Git ready you scallywags we be 'avin our headin soon!" He calls out the open door to his crew.
If one had been looking, they would have seen the majority of the crewmen roll their eyes and give back a weak 'aye captain' before continuing with what they were doing. It appears the General wasn't the only one who wasn't amused by the Captain's behavior.

Sensing the lack of enthusiasm in the crew, He stood up to his full height and pulled in a deep breath. "Men!" Kaitain shouted, allowing his voice to raise to include a slight bit of etheral growl. "I believe your captain just gave an order, all of you better get ready, for we will be leaving port soon. I'm going to make this clear now, I don't know how your captain deals with insubordination, but I will not tolerate it on this vessel. So strap up and show some damn respect! Let's hear a 'Yes Sir!'"
It should be noted, however, that Kai did not use the phrase, "show him the respect he deserves." There is a reason for this.

Not receiving news from the captain or Kaitain about accepting her proposal, she decided to travel down to the port herself and see them off to make sure everything is going smoothly. She was slightly confused to see Kaitain standing on board the Drunken Munkey when she passed by and called out "Kaitain?" She paused near the ramp and waited his reply. Behind her, four guards accompanied her.

"Ika!?" He shot around facing her, "I- uh..." He stuttered, with only a quick glance over his shoulder to the spinning captain. "um... we were just setting out... I guess..." He said awkwardly, the words he was looking for were skillfully avoiding this conversation.
